The fields with * are
required
*Band Name - this should be obvious *Hometown & State - If this isn't "Gainesville, FL" dont bother. we mean it.
Email - The main email contact for the band Website - The URL of your website Short Description - A short description of your sound (limited to 75 characters!) KEYWORDS - choose up to three words from the keyword list below Date Formed - The date your band was "formed" or played your first show Date Broke-Up - Hopefully this is blank, unless you would like to report that info to me. Profile - This could be your band members, or anything else that people should know about you (Limited to 2000 characters).
Logo - To get your band logo added to the bands page just follow these steps:
- Put a link to us on your website (preferrably with one of our cool banners)
- Be sure your logo is 150x50 or something reasonably sized. (we can resize for you, but it's nice when you do it right)
- Post a link to your logo here or email it to INFO@gainesvillebands.com, along with a link to your website (if we dont already have it).
- Wait. Approved logos will usually make it up in a few days.
KEYWORD LIST:
Quote:
| Accoustic, Alternative, Blues, Country, Covers, Electronic,
Emo,
Folk, Funk, Garage, HipHop, Improv, Indie, Instrumental, Jazz, Lounge,
Math, Metal, Pop, Psychedelic, Punk, R&B, Rap, Regge, Rock,
Rockabilly, Ska, Techno |
|
|
(you can request a word to be added
that's not on the list, but i doubt its gonna happen)
THE RULES:
1) Your Band must be based in Gainesville Florida. Meaning that you call Gainesville home.
2) Your Band Must have played out TWICE at a local venue or publicaly accessible event in Gainesville in the past 6 months. This
basically comes down to you being listed on on our shows page. (house
parties are iffy, because it's not really publically accessable)
check HERE to see if you meet those qualifications.
3) We can add older bands that broke up as well. Just let us know the dates that the band /was/ playing in town and we can put them in the archive.
4) Once you're on the list you need to play shows to stay in... at least 2 a year.
5) these are the rules. but we may make exceptions to these on very rare occasions.
(more to be added soon)
(please note that messages will be periodically deleted from this thread)
Please note:
"Changing the name" basically changes the name for all of the past shows as well.
If you band wants to do this, let me know and i'll
make that change, otherwise the new band needs to be added and the old
one retired.

Hey Glyph, hate to be a picky bitch, but:
Waylon Thornton and THE Heavy Hands (not just Heavy Hands)
and key words: Garage, Rockabilly, Surf
Thanks, baby.
I'm aware. I only set it up to have the band names a certain length. unfortunately it only fits the way i have it now... if i can ever fix it i will.

This may be nit-picky, but Douglas Shields & The X-
Factors is pluralized. I was gonna leave it be, but it's
driving me insane!Thank you, sir.
well.... sorry to say this, but the "name" field is
standardized size... your name is 1 chr too long. so you
dont get the s.
I'm trying to fix this, but it will effect the system in
a lot of odd ways. -g
