Can you please let me know how to submit shows and bands..??.. Every time I submit the show as a topic, it says I don't have permission to submit.
Help..!!.. We have an important event coming up on April 8, 2011 @ The Venue and need to get this up asap.

To post a show, you enter the Submissions forum and add a post to the already existent "Add or Edit Shows Here" thread.

PS - Adding a band is essentially the same...add a post in the Submission forum - Add or Edit bands thread.


SUBMIT ALL UPCOMING SHOWS HERE

  • No shows outside of Gainesville will be added.
  • Make sure the venue is aware of all lineup changes - it's not our job to tell them!
  • GainesvilleBands.com registration is required.
  • Past shows can be submitted for the archives.
  • Common Grounds and Backstage Lounge add all their own shows. if you just booked it, it will be up soon. If you want it up sooner... call them.

Please include the following information:

Venue
Date
(format: MM/DD/YYYY)
Lineup
(also include urls and brief description if musician is from out-of-town or not in the current Gainesville Bands listing)

Time
Price
Ages


Details
(e.g. event name, event description, DJs, specials, etc.)

Address
(only include for house shows and for venues not in the current Venue listing)

  • Try to get submissions in at least a week before their show date, otherwise they may not appear in time.
  • Flyers posted here will be ignored. Read the Flyer Submission FAQ on how to submit flyers.
  • The need to update line-ups every time a band is added/dropped is understandable, but the limit is capped to 3 submissions per event.
  • TBA's won't be included (e.g. "line-up tba", "more bands tba").
  • Include band urls with your submission so people can find out what their music sounds like.
  • Include an event name if there is one (e.g. "The Fest", "UnBalanced Connection").
  • If there's an event page (e.g. Facebook), include that url as well.
  • Entries and/or band names submitted in ALL CAPS are annoying bad etiquette and will be ignored.

And a heads-up... "The Venue" no longer exists, so you might want to look into what it's called now (Florida Theater Of Gainesville?) before making flyers.
