Glyph,

I only vaguely heard about thread deletions being discouraged. However, since I posted a WTB thread, and did buy, I figured it doesn't need to take up space. What do you think? Should threads be deleted in the Classifieds if things are sold or bought, or is it more trouble than it is worth?

you could just make a post at the end of the thread saying that said business is done and this thread no longer applies.

i agree with jerry. when youve found what youre looking for, or sold what you were selling, just place a posting stating as such.

thread deletion should only be for extreme circumstances and, in my opinion, should only be performed by glypher himself.

one thing to think of. say you were selling an apple and sold this apple, so post saying " i sold my apple"  then poster b comes along and posts" damn i needed an apple" then poster c says" hey, you can buy my apple" therefore, even though you were finished with the thread, it still proved to be important for someone else.

so i think you should just post that your item  was bought/sold. and if no  one else ever uses your thread, it will just fade into obscurity.

my thought on the subject,

J.T.

Actually, a better idea would be delete the thread when it becomes totally retarded or take it back to where it made some sort of sense, with a lil note saying "please make sense from now on"

If you wanna get all girly about it; if you threaten or harass another board member, they have the right to complain to your isp and have your account deleted, regardless of the rules and regs of this board.

Read your isp contract fine print, if you have any doubts.
